3 Looks for Small Outdoor Living Spaces
Can you believe it has almost been 2 months since the outbreak impact started? It's hard to believe. I am sure I'm not alone in saying that I'm grateful that this all began towards the end of winter. I can't imagine if we were going into the darkest days of the year. With warm temperatures and spring blooms appears everywhere, being able to spend more time outside has been critical. Not only does fresh air boost my mood, but outdoor walks and runs have been my primary form of exercise too.
With the impact of COVID-19 likely continuing for the remainder of 2020 (to some degree, though hopefully not so extreme), it's a great time to create an outdoor oasis for yourself. My husband and I are fortunate enough to have nearly 1/2 of an acre yard, but I recognize that many of you may have smaller areas, including apartment balconies. Have no fear! I'm going to share 3 options for those with space limitations. Click the product names under the image to shop each look!
If you live in an apartment or condo, then you know that maximizing every square foot of your home is critical. Obviously, your balcony is no different, so I know compact and dual-purpose furnishings are key. This look is perfect for anyone with a teeny outdoor space for many reasons. First, the chairs are foldable for easy storage. Second, the small side table can not only serve as a dining surface, but can also be a stool for a 3rd person to sit if needed. Lastly, by using hanging planters, you add some decorative touches without taking up precious table space. Wins all around!

If you don't rent or have an accommodating property manager, then this look is perfect for you! Hanging chairs are a perfect way to add "wow" factor, while keeping floor space free. I love how this woven design can be mixed with other textures and rich hues to feel boho, or can be dressed up with some classic neutrals. Either way, they create perfect cocoons to nestle up in.
Woven Indoor-Outdoor Swing Chair | Rattan Indoor-Outdoor Indian Stool Set of 2 | Turkish Indoor-Outdoor Rug in Red | Al Fresco Outdoor Pillow in Concrete | Ceramic Indigo Vase | Ceramic Wall Planters Set of 2 |
If you're fortunate enough to have a little extra outdoor square footage, then I would highly recommend maximizing it with a sectional. This will give you the most seating, and still creates a cozy, connected feel. You can tie it all together with a coffee table at the center for drinks, food, or games when hosting.
Brisbane Sectional in Navy | Queensland Coffee Table | Mod Concrete Round End Table | Moroccan Trellis Indoor-Outdoor Rug in Midnight | Al Fresco Outdoor Pillow in Concrete | Al Fresco Outdoor Pillow in Silver | Decorative Hanging Bells (sold out - but check out more decorative wall pieces > here)
Now I'm inspired to take advantage of this gorgeous spring evening we're having in Minneapolis! Thanks so much for reading.
